While it doesn't look like we'll be producing that beer in 2019, that doesn't necessarily mean it's gone forever.
Cherylyn, we do have a few gluten free food options. Our menu is view-able at www.lakefrontbrewery.com/beer-hall. As a secret hint, we will be debuting a new menu this coming Monday that features more gluten free options. Keep your eyes peeled for that.
It's sold at a very reasonable price everyday by the kind folks behind the bar!
I was just visiting back in CA now sorry
Yes they are open
I would call it a bar menu not full menu
They are not.
For a great brewery tour, call Brittany! What a fantastic, knowledgeable, funny and all around fun tour guide! Hands down this is the best beer tour in Milwaukee. Not only are the beers tasty but the staff is out of this world fantastic! We’ll be back again, again and again.
My favorite place when I visit Milwaukee. Best brewery tour in the country. Awesome beer. Great place to hang out and play games with friends for the better part of a day when the world isnt on fire.
Great experience! Love the ambience, freshly brewed beer & safety precautions they are taking🙂
Great tour. Fun place to hang out. Love the special release beers.
We stopped by this place during our Wisconsin trip. The outdoor seating by the lake is definitely the selling point. It's a great view. The staff was friendly and this was a popular place. You could decide to talk a walk along the river after a meal here. Recommend!
Very interesting, informative and fun tour. We went with our kids, ages 6 & 8. Some of the jokes were a little dirtier than I was expecting, but we gave them root beers and they had a great time. For food, we loved the fish & chips and chicken strips. The fries are AMAZING as is there homemade ranch. I really wanted to love the fried cheese curd. I've never had it before and have no idea what it's supposed to be like, but ours came out later than the rest of the meal and they were extremely chewy and cold. Maybe they are supposed to be like this? We did not care for them though. Lastly we had the WI mac n cheese. Not sure what kind of cheese(s) they use, but it was the worst mac n cheese I've had.Would definitely go again. The outdoor riverside seating is lovely and the beers are delicious.
I must of went on 10+ tours here at Lakefront while living in Milwaukee. The best brewery tour hands down... Your tour guides are former theatre majors who keep things fun, enthusiastic, educational, and incorporates a little adult humor. Perfect idea to come here before a Bucks/Brewers game or honestly for a trip in in itself. A must for any group event. The pub hall is also a lively place to enjoy your favorite Lakefront varieties/ share some tasty appetizers. I can’t forget about the riverfront patio that gives great views of the city. A must stop destination!
Stopped in for a beer because of the hop passport. Not thrilled at the selection that they had, but the bartender was great and made some really good suggestions. The place was loud but that may be because it's a beer hall, not used to that particular scene. Haven't tried the food yet, but may give it a go in the future.
We went for the tour instead of eating here, and we weren't disappointed. The guide (Tony, IIRC) interacts with the tour with the skill of a solid stand-up comedian (I'd be surprised if he never tried that as an act before he started working here), and the beer samples were high quality as well. Next time? Trying the food as well. Highly recommended.
Max was our tour guide and he was amazing!! I never wrote reviews but our experience was so good I am writing this one. Max was clever, hilarious and informative. I have been on multiple brewery tours and this one was by far the best. It is a great place but the people such as max make the experience so unbelievable. Thank you max!!
Lakefront is one of my favorite places in Milwaukee! I love taking friends and family here for tours or Friday Fish Fry. Monday happy hour deals are AMAZING too! There’s beer here for everyone, and they brew a porter that is, to this day, my favorite beer in the world! This place is a must for anyone that lives in or is visiting Milwaukee!
Cool brewery out on the water! My friends and I really liked the vibe here when we stopped by during Santa Con! We'll definitely be back.
I didn't take the tour this time around but I have heard great things about it! I ordered the pot roast sandwich with cheese curds and a beer and it was all amazing!! The pot roast was tender, and the sauce was flavorful. The cheese curds were some of the best I've ever had. The beer was delicious also. Everybody working there seemed friendly. Someone stopped by my table and asked me how my food was and cleared my plates. Overall, a very enjoyable experience. I will return some other time and take the tour and try something else off of the menu.
I hate to give negative reviews but this was probably one of the worst dining experiences of my life as far as food quality went. The Mac and cheese was flavorless and a horrible texture. Adding the peppers and tomatoes made it worse. There were plastic shavings in the food. The cheese curds were FAR from award winning. They were burnt on the inside. The limited amount of cheese was stiff. I was extremely disappointed.I always make a point of trying new breweries when I travel to work. I’ve been hundreds of places. I know some breweries focus more on beer than food, so I never go in with high expectations and this was far below my standards. I don’t believe in wasting food, but I couldn’t take more than a few bites of this meal and left it.
Review of the restaurantFood is good - not an expansive menu, but you should be able to find something you'll like.Service can be spotty - it can get busy, and it's a large, loud, and crowded place (think German Beer Hall), so don't expect a leisurely romantic dinner and you'll be fine. With that said, it can be a lot of fun (especially when, as my young daughter called-it, the "Ooma-Loopa Band" gets started). Can you find better food in a more relaxed atmosphere - certainly. But as long as you know what to expect, you'll really enjoy yourself (and the food and beer)
Didn't take the tour but it was busy on that front. Food and beer was amazing. Those cheese curds with the garlic ranch are amazing. Good service, interesting seat yourself style and you have order, take a number and they get it to you. Attentive staff and cool gift shop. Great place and neat look. Definitely would go again.
Great beers. I believe they are one of the best 🍻s in town and Wisconsin, further as well😉🤗
Great spot for a date. The beer selection was excellent, the staff was friendly, and the food was memorable.
Staff isn't too courteous. We do enjoy the fish fry and the and the riverfront view. Good portions and tasty.
Great building, bad beer. Douchebag staff. Restaurant manager was rude when asked about concerns. Way better breweries in the area.Edit: Just found out this company has been serving at full capacity, indoors, putting customers and staff at risk. A company of this value does NOT need to stay open in order to survive. Not to mention most of their profit is from beer sales. They are fine with being a super-spreader.
As a local Milwaukeean I LOVE me some Lakefront, and with that outdoor patio during the pandemic, you can't beat it!!We would love to patron this great brewery, but they never seem to be seating people outside. The staff has been fairly rude and not accommodating when online it says they're open until 9 but they stop seating the patio at 6:30?? Lakefront- pleeease I'd love to give you my money, but you're making it really hard! Update your hours online or re-educate your staff on customer service, you're falling behind as my favorite brewery :(
This was my first brewery tour - like ever. Was thoroughly entertaining & there was beer a plenty. Enjoyed our tour guide (Britt) who was energetic & very well informed.I went on the Environmental Tour. Not sure how the format is wildly different from the original. I did get some good tidbits on the steps Lakefront is trying to reduce its carbon footprint. Only downside I had was that I think there were too many people on our tour group. I understand wanting to fit as many people in a time slot as possible - but there were definitely chunks of the tour that were just missed because of the distance between the tour guide and the rest of the group. My recommendation is to get to your tour time early & fight your way to the front & stick by the tour guide if you can. At least for my tour the crowd was so huge, that if the tour guide moved, you could easily get shoved to the back. Overall, I did enjoy it! Loved the beer & made me have a lot of respect for the craft.
It was good. Their Lakefront IPA is awesome!! Food is excellent. Scenery is beautiful on the riverfront. Good place.
Really unique brewery right on the water with a great back patio and ample space for large groups. Parking is readily available and there are a lot of walking trails around the brewery. If you want a true in depth tour their 80 minute offering will definitely support this. If you just want to take a few pics and not super interested in production then not sure if you’d be super hype for this. They have a lot of food, but the cheese curds were a little too oily in our opinion. They did have countless award winning beers and a stage for live performances.Just a heads up if there is a Bucks game this place will be completely full.
Best fish fry in milwaukee, hands down. great atmosphere with polka music. also the best brewery tours - I always bring out of town guests here
Hands down, the best cheese curds I've ever had. The grilled cheese was also fantastic, as was the keilbasa sandwich. Oh and the beer - top notch! They are doing a wonderful job of cleaning, keeping distance between guests and training staff on how to serve safely, during these challenging times. A+++!
What used to be one of my favorite locations ,destinations, fun places to be at has turned into a covid-19 hazard zone. The fun has been suck out. Beer and food is still great just a hollow place to be.
Good food, but if they're going to close at 8pm every day as a schedule, they could at least have the decency to update their listing on here.
Food was great. Beer was great. Being pushed out after an hour with beer and food on the table, at 5:45 on a Tuesday with no one waiting for our table NOT GREAT. Waitress clearly just wanted another table. $100 check for one hour???? We are so ok with masks and social distancing but not ok with drive through sit down service! Took our good to go and check he’d our beer to “move along”
Loud and crowded most of the time. Food is pretty good, beer is good and the staff is friendly. The tour is the best part. Guides make the tour fun.
The tour is great and the beer of course. Very funny and really nice in the summer to sit outside the deck and watch boats on the river.
Great experience! The brewery is organized for Covid precautions with designated walkways and dividers between parties at tables. Fast & friendly service. Great beer.
A really great brewery to check out! The tour was fun and the tour guide was very energetic and engaging. THAT IS THE TYPE OF PERSON YOU NEED RUNING A TOUR. Our group did a day trip to Milwaukee and dropped in. Glad we did.
Hands down the best fried cheese curds I’ve ever had. The breading was soft and crispy. The curds were clearly freshly made and delicious. Bottom line, I will be looking for any excuse to drive through Milwaukee to pick up another basket!! It cost $9 for the basket, and the basket is large enough to comfortably feed two people. 110% recommend.
Overall the visit was great. Wish they had more of a beer selection for being a brewery. But the food was fantastic. We stopped in at the high tops for poutine and fried brussel sprouts. We will definitely be revisiting later this year!
Docked from the river on Sunday at 3:00 looking for a beer and food. They were out of most dishes on the patio menu. We were told that the inside menu was different but we would have to go inside and eat. We were not comfortable eating in. So we asked if we could just order off the inside menu and stay outside? The waitress said no. We said that we would just head down the river and look for something else. The waitress said "good luck with that, nobody has food". Floated shortly down the river to Riverfront and had a great meal.
This is a Milwaukee classic. Not a huge fan of their beer but it's not bad. Food is solid. On national cheese curd day they go all out with the options. Huge space with bench seating so you'll likely have someone on the same table but it's not an issue. Can still get pretty packed. Right next to the river. If you're on a boat you can dock, get a beer, and head back out pretty quickly.
Brilliant brewery, from the food to the lovely atmosphere to the beer! I love the lakefront views. It’s an absolute gem to visit with family and friends in the summer time. Come and enjoy :)
Firstly, their cheese curds are literally the best I've ever had, ever.Secondly, their staff is very helpful. Had trouble picking out a beer as it was our first time, let us sample to figure out our favorites (all of them were super tasty so this was a tough one). Finally, lots of shade in the reviews about COVID prevention. Um, well, when I went there, they required masks, they made you wear them whenever you weren't at your table. All the tables were distanced, and they had guidance on the floors so that people were walking in one direction, I.e. not walking past each other. All the menus were disposable, even had hand sanitizer on the tables. The host even went through instructions before being seated. Seems like one of the best restaurants I've been to in that regard.
Came back from airport was looking something to drink. Found this place that i was so happy i was dancing! GREAT BEER!Service ✔Friendly people ✔Great people✔
Omg I had so much fun coming from Colorado, I enjoyed Milwaukee so much and the whole tour vibe was amazing even though were in a pandemic that didn’t affect the fun. Go lakefront brewery woohoo
Amazing Friday fish fry, ambiance, food, and staff. The tours are fun and definitely worth going on more than once. We have really been missing Lakefront during Covid.
Great food, great atmosphere, great beer, great stickers, fantastic cheese curds. Just an awesome place to go.
Came here for post-hike beer and cheese curds. No wonder they are so popular - the most delicious cheese curds I’ve had in a long time! Beer selection was limited, but good options. Can sit along the river and watch Kayakers (or entertaining bachelorette boat parties) go by while you enjoy your meal. There is a one hour limit to outdoor seating once food service begins, around noon. Social distancing is observed with outdoor seating. Great service and super friendly staff. Highly recommend!
Post COVID UPDATE - Typically 5 star now down to three because of long waits and staff who are mean.
nice people and best beer in Town. will be back.
Beer, fish, and cheese curds. When in Wisconsin, what more do you need? Lakefront Brewery provides all of these in great quality. You’ll definitely leave feeling full and happy. With significant COVID precautions, the brewery feels safe whether you’re inside or out. There are glass panels separating every seating place indoors. Outdoors, even the decor has a mask on. Overall, they’re doing their best to ensure both your safety and the staff’s.
I really enjoyed sampling their different beers. The atmosphere is friendly and the location is great. We took the brewery tour and I'm sorry to say, did not like it. It was more of a stand up comedy bit rather than a brewery tour. Did not get much tour at all. Were only briefly in the production area and spent the majority of the time in a small bar area that overlooks the machinery. Would return for snacks and drinks though.
Had a fantastic time here. Our Tour guide Weston was great, good mix of information and humor. Was surprised by how many samples were included with the tour, 4 half pints, with opportunities throughout the tour to earn more! At the end you get a token for a free souvenir. They say it’s for a free pint glass online, but when you get there you find out that you can exchange it for a bottle opener, or use as credit towards a t-shirt or other more expensive items in the gift shop as well!
Best brewery in the city. Can't beat those cheese curds!
